It covered the areas of industry, agriculture, health, education, etc. This cooperation was mostly one-sided. The USSR provided great assistance in the modernization of the factory, electric power, oil and gas industry. In the social and humanitarian sphere were constructed new hospitals and polyclinics, which were equipped with soviet medical equipment. In the field of education serious attention was paid to the development of technical schools, which trained professional staff for various sectors of the economy. During this period, the USSR was also the main creditor and trading partner of Afghanistan.
