The article emphases the works of artists of “Leningrad painting school”, who reflected the blockade theme in their works during the war period and the first post-war years. The paintings and graphic heritage of A. I. Rusakov, V. N. Kuchumov, V. M. Konashevich, N. E. Timkov, G. P. Fittingof, A. P. Ostroumova-Lebedeva and a number of other masters who worked in Leningrad and captured it in the severe wartime. The works of these artists serve as an important visual source for studying the culture of Leningrad during the years of the siege.
