Characteristics of the mental model of the emotional code perception of the modern Russian short story is given on the basis of an analysis of the texts published in literary journals (2005-2017). Punctuation marks are considered as a means of accentuation in the emotive code of a story, the role of metagrafics in the formation of emotive meanings is revealed.
