: This article examines foreign policy during the one-man rule of the Emperor Gallienus.
It was quite intense, since the Roman Empire was covered by a wave of invasions of barbarian
tribes. At the end of the article, it is concluded that foreign policy was quite successful, this is
primarily due to the fact that it was at this time that the military reform was carried out, which
made the army more effective and efficient.
