Aspects of Belarus' multidirectional foreign policy are examined, with reference to its relationships with countries and groups of countries involved in intraregional conflicts. In focus are Belarus ' relations with Turkey; the Gulf States which are politically close to the West; Sudan; Iran and its political allies. The identified trends and preliminary analysis thereof gave grounds to the hypethesis that Minsk's actions in the region depended on the state of its relations with its most important counterarts, particularly with the West. A model of communication, prioritization and subordination of foreign policy objectives for Belarus in the middle East is proposed, and its usefulnessas an analytical tool is considered.
