O.В. Vakhromeeva, professor of the St. Petersburg University, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the higher women's education in Russia, presents the history of the teaching of scientific disciplines within the walls of the Higher Women's (Bestuzhev) courses (1878-1918). At the women's university, the best outstanding scientists and scientific and pedagogical cadres of that time were taught. In the book on a wide range of historical sources, the reconstruction of the educational and scientific activities of students of courses reflecting the development of various scientific schools, whose founders were representatives of the teaching corporation Bestuzhevskih courses. The list of the teaching corporation of the St. Petersburg Petrograd Higher Women's (Bestuzhevsky) courses and the Third Petrograd University precedes the review of the teaching of scientific disciplines. In addition, a monograph touching one of the most urgent issues of the 1860s-1880s, "feminine," is preceded by an extensive introduction on the boundaries of women's emancipation in pre-revolutionary Russia.
