In the article analyzes the problem of the correlations between power and property in the Muslim highland socium of Chechnya on the eve of the region's entry into the Russian Empire. The given task is carried out by revealing and the analysis of features of the Chechen mountain community as the subject of similar relations. One of the principal questions is how the power of the community (the collective social individual) manifests itself in relation to different types of property in Muslim society. All this is understood on the basis of a wide range of sources. The authors note the special stability of the social organization of the Chechen rural community, manifested in its ability to adapt to various forms of external influence. The neighboring community in Chechnya, while maintaining a significant role of the Taip, was able to survive both during the transformation of Shamil and under the imperial administration.
