The article considers the position of the Chinese-speaking immigrant community ("Overseas Chinese") in the History of Laos from the late 19th century to early 21st century. The peculiarities of the formation of the Chinese community on the territory of the Laotian state, the specificity of the interaction of "Overseas Chinese" with the local population and representatives of the state power in this country are analyzed. In conclusions of the article the author gives a periodization of the History of Laos in relation to the position of "Overseas Chinese" in it.
