This paper considers various economic and sociological approaches to the analysis of relations between labour and consumption. It is shown that in consumption-value measurement the inverse dependency of a measure of labour on consumption breaks value equality (the labour measure defi nes a measure of consumption and is equivalent to it) and is expressed by an inequality: the labour, which is necessary according to conditions of consumption, is more than the labour, which is necessary according to conditions of production.
