The introduction of amendments to the Constitution at the beginning of 2020 caused a great resonance not only among lawyers and politicians. This process is widely discussed by historians, philosophers and other scientists. Of particular interest were the amendments regarding the establishment of new constitutional guarantees to preserve the Russian cultural identity and continuity in the development of the Russian state. The article considers the amendments proposed to be introduced into the Russian Constitution, defining historically established state unity, the country's history, and the uniqueness of cultural heritage as constitutionally significant value.
