Museum of History of Religion (Academy of Sciences of USSR) in 1932-1961. The article investigates the research work in religious studies pursued at the Museum of History of Religion during the period of its subordination to the Academy of Sciences of USSR. The significance of research work in the museum practice is revealed by archival documents introduced to the public for the first time and on the basis of historiography.
