The report examines the views of B.M. Yesajanyan on teaching
methods, which she expressed during the discussion on methods of teaching a
second language. This discussion took place in the USSR in 1980 – 1982 on the
pages of the scientific journal «Russian language in the national school».
B.M. Yesajanyan proposed to call the methods associated with the actions of
teachers and students in the classroom as «methods (I)», and the methods
associated with the holistic educational process «methods (II)», and include the
first one in the second one.
