The Russian Museum of Ethnography (REM) is a museum of national ethnology. The principles of museum Caucasian studies are reflected mainly in the character of museum exibitions. The preparation of a complete set of expositions on the ethnography of the peoples of the Caucasus was carried out in 1977 - 1982 as exposures by individual ethnies. Since the early 1990-s REM works under way to develop an exposition showing the cultural unity of the Caucasus region.
