The article presents an analysis of the personal library of one of the largest hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church of the 16th century - the Archbishop of Novgorod Feodosiy (1491-1563). A list of his books was compiled and analyzed; process of their collecting was studied. The conclusion was made about the range of interests of Archbishop Feodosiy, and details of his use of personal library for writing his own messages were opened.
