N2 - Participating in Olympic competitions, Ibero-American countries attract attention, promote their national cultural traditions, declare their successes or problems. As members of the Olympic movement, they are in close contact with other important actors in international relations. Over the past decades, the participation of Ibero-American countries not only in the summer Olympics, but also in the winter, which indicates the unconditional popularity of Olympic sports in the mega-region. Thanks to special projects of the International Olympic Committee, many of the Ibero-American countries are able to solve their social problems: poverty, crime, children’s and women’s sports, etc. The article deals with the history of the inclusion of Iberoamerica countries in the Olympic movement, noted their achievements, and identified the problems faced by countries along the way. The current state of the Olympic movement in the Ibero-American region is analyzed. Separately studied the Olympic games, held in different years in the countries of Iberoamerica.
