The territory of the Leningrad region was occupied by the Nazis and their allies for three years: from summer 1941 to summer 1944. Soviet state security officers were directly involved in organizing armed resistance to the enemy. They collected all the necessary information for both Leningrad and Moscow. However, from the very first days of their intelligence activities in the occupied territory, the Chekists encountered numerous difficulties.
