The article is dedicated to the fate of the prominent engineer of Russian Railways Sergey Nikolayevich Kulzhinsky (1874-1941). The author analyzes the surviving materials of the personal fund and archival documents on the basis of which a biographical article has been prepared. The article considers the labor and scientific activities of S.N. Kulzhinsky during his work at the Engineering Council under the Ministry of Railways, the Special High Commission for a comprehensive study of railway business in Russia, at the Technical Council at the People’s Commissariat of Railways, when an engineer actively combined scientific work with practical activities in railway transport. Based on the preserved correspondence of S.N. Kulzhinsky with his family, the author recreates the picture of everyday life in the Amur camp at the settlement of Magdagachi station. The conclusion provides a complete bibliographic list of his scientific works.
