The article reveals document and archive materials on the
history of Dorpat University that are stored in the Russian State Historical Archive, in the Fund of the Department of Education (RGIA. F. 733. Op. 56.). Professional activity of the first rector of Dorpat University Georg Friedrich Parrot
is described based on the documents that cover his scientific and admimistrative
achievements. These materials clarify G. F. Parrot’s bibliograpgy and his vast
scientific heritage.
