This article is devoted to the study of the implementation of the UN goal in the field
of sustainable urban development in Russia. The authors analyze international legal acts and documents
adopted on these issues in the Russian Federation, consider and evaluate all major projects for the
development of the urban environment, and point out the advantages and disadvantages of the approach
of Russian experts and authorities. The conclusions made in this study will be useful for the development
of federal legislation in the field of urban planning and documents in the field of urban development and
territorial planning at the level of constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
