Nord Stream 2 is one of the most popular projects implemented in the Baltic region. Russia and Germany are the main actors in the launch of a new gas pipeline, which originates in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation and ends in Greifswald in Germany. The article describes in detail the reasons for the construction of the new gas pipeline in the context of the energy dialogue between Russia and Germany. The interests of Germany in the implementation of the project, as well as criticism of the new gas pipeline in the Bundestag in connection with domestic political events in Russia are considered in the article.
