This article aims in evaluating the extent to which political forces in Scotland used identity rhetoric in 2007-2021. To achieve this goal, the author analyzed the election manifestos of Scottish political parties that played a significant role in the political life of Scotland during this period. Having studied the texts of the policy documents in order to find reflections of aspects of Scottish national identity (history, culture, language), the author draws conclusions about the place that political parties assigned to identity rhetoric in election campaigns.
