The article analyzes the composition of parish council of the All Russian Saints Church in Petrograd which was opened in an apartment of a nearby house, after the closure of the Petrograd University Church. Among its parish members were academic scientists. Also, a geographical analysis of the places of residence of the parish council members is carried out. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that church life in Petrograd became more active after 1917, and that academic degrees could not interfere with genuine religious faith.
