Problems emerging during the procedure of qualification of public spread of deliberately false information about circumstances posing a threat to civilians’ life and safety (art. 2071 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation) are considered in the article. Author points out the necessity of systemic interpretation of criminal law rule provided by the art. 2071 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation and critically analyses court practice formed in the conditions of coronavirus pandemic.
