In the Russian Empire in the XIX century one of the most common crimes against the faith was sacrilege. The Russian authorities severely punished these criminals. However, in exceptional cases, for example, in the case of the juvenile age of the offender, the punishment imposed was mitigated. The article is supposed to characterize this «mitigating» factor
