Monitoring of the total content of ozone, which is one of the most climatically and ecologically important gases, is currently carried out using polar, geostationary, and highly elliptical satellites (Arktika-M). The paper compares measurements of total ozone (TO) with the MSU-GS radiometer on the Arktika-M satellites with ground-based measurements using the Bruker 125HR Fourier spectrometer and IKFS-2 and TROPOMI satellite instruments. It is shown that MSU-GS measurements on the Arktika-M highly elliptical satellites allow obtaining valuable information on TO with a high spatial (4 km) and temporal (15 minutes) resolution, taking into account the observed variations in TO under conditions of “ozone holes” reaching 50% and more and leading to increases in dangerous ultraviolet solar radiation.
