The housing stock of post-socialist countries today is a problem for cities. Soviet areas currently make up the bulk of the housing stock, but these buildings need to be further developed for future use. This article discusses the experience of two cities: Moscow and Berlin, which existed in a single socialist space. These two cities were built with a typical panel and affordable housing, but chose different ways of solving this problem.
