In this study, authors map and analyze the case of protest against the transfer of the St. Isaacs's Cathedral in St.Petersburg, Russia, to Russian Orthodox Church as it reflexed in public sphere. Using the combination of social network analysis method and content analysis of mass media, authors find and classifies the core groups of protest action. Furthermore, such approach makes possible to state the Russian Orthodox Church as an actor of this process, which makes tremendous risks for public image of all actors, due to possible conflict escalation.
