The article studies problems of intertextuality in intermediality of the Russian symbolism. It is stated that the intertextuality and intermediality interact and become principles of the symbolism poetics and strategies of mythologization. We can see the blending of the intertextual and intermedial motives and images and ecphrasis transformations on the basis of neoclassical types of representation. The intertextual images of “The Eternal Feminine” and “The Suffering God” are studied in the article. They form central medial myths of the Russian symbolism in the works by A. Blok and Vyach. Ivanov.
