The outburst hazard criteria of lakes in the Larsemann Hills are discussed in this article; these criteria are: the presence of a depression in the topography; the presence of a snowfield (glacier) damming the lake; the elevation of the lake water level above the lake runoff threshold. 13 lakes in the Larsemann Hills are
considered in that context. The obtained evaluations of the outburst hazard do not contradict the available information on cases of this water bodies. It was found that changes in the cyclicity and frequency of lake outburst are related to the inter-annual variability of meteorological parameters. On a century-long and multiyear scale, definitely, global climate changes will have a certain impact
