In this paper, the researchers tried to identify at the semantic, syntactic and pragmatic levels and describe the spatio-temporal characteristics of Russia, constructed by the Japanese official political discourse (2012-2019) based on public statements by the Prime Minister of Japan, affecting Russian-Japanese relations. The authors turned to the discourse theory of E. Laclo and S. Muff.
