One of the major tasks of Ego transformation in psychoanalysis is its shift from the pleasure principle to reality principle. It is widely accepted in the psychoanalytic literature. Normally, though, the emphasis on the role of frustration is made. The paper presents another view, showing the importance of phantasy gratification which takes place in the realm of therapy interactions. The phantasy gratification experience seems to be painless and non-traumatic way to the reality Ego.
