The paper focuses on different types of biblical and liturgical loanwords in panegyric odes by M. V. Lomonosov, V. P. Petrov. In odes we often reveal biblical fragments which are recognizable parts of Orthodox worship services. Petrov’s odes often modify biblical and liturgical images from Lomonosov’s odes. Compared to Lomonosov, in Petrov’s odes liturgical borrowings are more noticeable and more clearly associated with ideological tasks.
