This article analyzes the activities of U.S. governmental and non-governmental organizations in Jordan and their role in the implementation of the United States of America cultural diplomacy in the Hashemite Kingdom. To emphasize the special features of the United States' approach to self-positioning in the sociocultural space of Jordan, the authors examined the work of such organizations and institutions as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and its Middle East broadcast networks, and the International Youth Organization. The authors come to the conclusion that governmental organizations are the primary instrument for the implementation of U.S. cultural diplomacy in Jordan.
