The article analyzes Fernando Namora’s Os Adoradores do Sol , namely, the second part, in which the author represents his impressions of a short visit to Leningrad. Single fragments translations’ are provided, single passages of the text are analyzed. It is concluded that, despite of the short period of Namora’s staying in Leningrad, he managed to absorb the information in full, understand and convey the difficult fate of the citizens in different periods of the turbulent history of the city and the country. However, the narrative is the author’s individual view; the text is filled with Namora’s philosophical reflections, which grow out of concrete facts and individual episodes seen during the journey.
