The research focuses on the Anglophone art discourse devoted to Russian painting of 50s-60s of the 20th century and by means of linguistic discursive analysis reveals the value cognitive dominant, which plays significant part in the knowledge system of an English speaking expert and defines their interpretation vector of Russian painting. Values that are made explicit in Anglophone art discourse, spiritual values, are considered to belong to the highest position in the hierarchy of values.
