Taking into account the fact that in recent years the influence of the principles and norms of international law on the system of norms ensuring environmental safety in the Russian Federation has increased, the formation of international environmental law is of considerable theoretical and practical interest. The article examines the history of the formation and development of international law of environmental protection, international treaties as its sources, their implementation in the Russian constitutional-legal space.
