In this article, a method of remediation of soils that are contaminated with petroleum products is considered. As a natural sorbent peat, activated with fertilizer was used. It soaks up oil hydrocarbons and activates indigenous microorganisms. According to the results of laboratory analyzes, soils’ cleaning method using activated peat is recognized as effective: the germination recorded in cleaned samples was lower than in clean, but significantly higher than in polluted soils’ samples. Quantitative analysis data showed that the level of residual contamination after the microbiological stage of remediation was lower than the MPC for petroleum products.
