The process of literary translation from Eastern languages has not only technical, but also culturological features, which makes it strikingly different from the process of translation from European languages. It seems that the fact of intercultural communication is absent when translating fiction. Nevertheless, the process of transferring cultural realities, their transformation for the reader, is a kind of intercultural communication, and this process also affects literary works. This article demonstrates this process using the example of translations of works of Turkish literature.
