The article considers the international legal problem of protecting public health from exposure to tobacco smoke in the context of ensuring the right of citizens to a favorable environment. The
international legal acts and other documents of the United Nations aimed at combating tobacco smoke are given, as well as the legislation of the Russian Federation in this area is considered.
