The relevance of the topic of the article is explained by the fact that in 2019 it will be 15 years since the formation of the Bolivarian alliance. On the basis of a comparativist analysis, the article considers the current socio-economic and situation, as well as the distribution of political forces in each of the alliance states. Special emphasis is accented on the consideration of the states of the Caribbean English-speaking periphery of the alliance. In Russian Latin American studies such an attempt is being made for the first time. The authors conclude that there is a multi-vector political process in the core countries of the alliance - Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Bolivia. Сan be stated that all states have common problem “points”, related primarily to socio-economic issues.
