The article discusses some features of the development of digitalization of the economy, analyzes
the results of the activities of the network and communication business and the companies serving them. It
is shown that the digitalization of the economy slows down GDP growth, attention is drawn to the significant differences between the leading companies in terms of sales and revenue per employee, the question
is raised about the problems of using traditional economic indicators to evaluate such companies. The problems of accounting and estimating the capital of network and communication companies are noted, which
complicates the accounting of taxation and creates problems for macroeconomic modeling of economic
development in terms of accounting for capital costs as the most important factor.
