The article deals with a stereotype of a compliant person in minds of
Russian native speakers of different age groups. Based on the analysis of
lexicographic sources, Internet forums and questionnaire results, the authors have come to a conclusion that a compliance as a character trait in the Russian mentality is ambivalent in terms of evaluation, and there is a tendency to move from plus to minus on the scale of evaluation.
