N2 - The article traces the evolution of the EU’s approach to Central Asia in the context of changes in global strategy and EU development priorities. The article focuses on the normative agenda, the agenda of "efficient and sustainable connectivity", the agenda of "green" and digital transformation in the EU’s interaction with Central Asia. The author concludes that the main driving forces of the contemporary EU’s Central Asia policy are the factor of confrontation with Russia and the factor of "China threat" theory. The first one determines the intensification of political contacts with the governments of Central Asian countries, the search for alternative sources of hydrocarbons and transport corridors bypassing Russia. The second is encouraging the EU to promote the European model of connectivity in the region as a counterbalance to the Chinese one and strengthen cooperation with countries in the region in matters of production and import of critical raw materials in order to reduce dependence on Chinese supplies.
