The study aims to estimate the effect of sociodemographic and cognitive features on presenteeism, absenteeism and working capacity in patients with recurrent depressive disorder in remission state. Thirty patients were recruited and 53.3 % of them met criteria of complete remission. The disability depends on pessimistic thoughts, deficits in attention and resistance to non-affective interference. The absenteeism depends on planning and decision making ability, processing speed and employment history. The presenteeism depends on planning and decision making ability, employment history and number of visits to community psychiatrist. Executive functions positively influence maintenance of working capacity. Also, younger participants are more vulnerable at higher risk of professional impairment. Results obtained point to expediency of introduction of executive functions’ assessment and its correction for recovery of working capacity in patients.
