The article compares the military-organizational strategies of two heroes of the history of the XVI century - Niccolo Machiavelli and Mikhail Vorotynsky. The analysis of these strategies is carried out in the diplomatic and military-practical contexts. Having considered the key successes of each - the return of Pisa to the Florentine republic by Machiavelli's militia and the victory of Russian troops in the Battle of Molodi under the rule of Vorotynsky - the author concludes about the individuality of their strategies and the common meaning of both triumphs.
