Maintenance and optimization of health is one of the important challenges both for a person and the society. Research on healthy lifestyle is mainly focused on physical and medical characteristics, and do not put enough weight to psychological components. Another important research direction is maintenance of quality of life, and particularly, psychological well-being in older adults. The aim of the current study was to evaluate characteristics of healthy lifestyle in two age groups: aged 50-65 and 66-89, conduct independent samples test for those characteristics and identify correlations between healthy lifestyle parameters and scales of psychological well-being in two age groups. Participants were 118 older adults aged 50-89. Study results showed that on one hand mean scores of healthy lifestyle slightly differ in two groups, on the other hand, with age we can identify slow decrease in those characteristics. Correlation analysis revealed differences in the structures of associations between psychological well-being and healthy lifestyle. We can assume that with age social and psychological characteristics play greater role in healthy lifestyle than objective and medical.
