Objective: to assess epidemiological features of tuberculosis among children in the North-Western Federal district (NWFD) and to evaluate the appropriateness of currently available diagnostic methods for tuberculosis. Materials and methods. We analyzed the main epidemiological parameters and evaluated the appropriateness of tuberculosis immune diagnostics using tuberculosis skin test (TST, Mantoux test with 2 TU), Diaskintest (DST), and computed tomography in 11 regions of the North-Western district of the Russian Federation in 2016-2017. Results. Our analysis demonstrated that tuberculosis incidence had significantly increased in Pskov region (by 2017) and in Murmansk (after initial decrease in 2016). Tuberculosis incidence in adolescents residing in the NWFD is similar to that in children. The implementation of DST was going slowly in almost all regions of the NWFD; in many regions, DST had not been used until 2017. Moreover, multispiral computed tomography is rarely performed in children with positive test
