In this article discusses the problem of Russia's national identity in the context of globalization. Mass culture is one of the factors of transformation of the symbols of national identity. The article describes the influence of mass culture on the self-determination of the population and the key elements that influence the change in the image of traditional symbols. The basis of identity is the change in moral values under the influence of mass culture, which is observed all over the world, but because of the historical past of our country, it is felt most acutely on the territory of Russia. Summing up the results, it can be concluded that national identity is based on a system of traditional values and moral norms, which is one of the important conditions for ensuring the political and social stability of a society.
