This article contains information on a special educational course “Indian etiquette” read at the Department of Indian Studies, Faculty of Asian and African Studies, St.Petersburg State University. It summarized the experience of a little bit less than 10 years of this educational practice. The course contains theoretical information and practical trainings on the following topics: Etiquette as theoretical and practical discipline; Etiquette, ethics, rituals and customs - common and different features; Specific characteristics of Indian etiquette, Communication, its main and models and principles; Etiquette of meetings and fare-wells; Addressing and polite formulas; Procsemics, body-language and non0verbal aspects of communication; Food etiquette; Indian home and welcoming of guests; Travelling, transport and correct behavior; Etiquette norms and specifics of behavior in public places; Holidays in public and private; Business etiquette. Every topic contains theory, examples form Indian literature, movies, Internet, newspapers, magazines etc. and practical tasks which students are to resolve themselves.
