Empirical notion on the low-frequence wave perturbations in the Antarctic circumpolar current (ACC) formed on the basis of the satellite alimeter measurements and current meter data is generalized. The interpretation of the observed phase velocities and periods of the low-frequency waves is given from the point of view of the theory of the Rossby waves and jet waves in streams of the eastern direction. It is shown that jet waves predominate over non-divergent Rossby waves in the different regions of ACC.
